Main content start

The WorkLife Office has developed a set of guiding principles and is leveraging these for decisions relative to re-opening child care centers, while also relying on the expertise and guidance of various university partners.

Guiding Principles for Reopening Child Care Centers

  • Health and safety is the priority for all members of the child care community
  • Enrollment will support the university’s mission-focused re-opening stages
  • Re-opening of centers will be implemented with opportunities to learn and adjust
  • Prudently manage fiscal resources in a way that balances cost-effective operations and health and safety, while serving as many families as possible
  • Leverage a child-centered approach while adapting to inherently uncertain and constantly evolving circumstances that do not always offer the option for consistency
