University Winter Closure** The 2022/2023 Winter Closure will be from Wednesday, December 21, 2022 through Tuesday, January 3, 2023, with normal operations resuming on January 4, 2023. The following dates are designated as University holidays:

- Friday, December 23, 2022
- Monday, December 26, 2022
- Monday, January 2, 2023
The 2023/2024 Winter Closure dates to be announced in spring 2023 The 2024/2025 Winter Closure dates to be announced in spring 2024
Floating Holidays Dates mutually agreed upon between employee and supervisor. Dates mutually agreed upon between employee and supervisor. Dates mutually agreed upon between employee and supervisor.

*The holiday schedule for these years is provided for planning purposes and may be subject to change.

**Employees in operational areas that observe Winter Closure will receive holiday pay for holidays that fall during the close, and may use available PTO, floating holiday, accrued vacation, unpaid time off, or any combination of these, on the remaining closure days. 

Note: Temporary and casual employees are not eligible for paid holidays or floating holidays.

Eligibility for Paid Holidays: Regular staff employees are eligible for paid holidays beginning on their first day of employment if they are normally scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week (50% or more of regular full-time employment, also known as FTE).

Floating Holidays: Floating holidays (16 hours) are available to all regular staff employees on January 1 of the calendar year and can be taken at any time within that calendar year, with supervisory approval. Employees represented by either SEIU or SDSA should consult their respective collective bargaining agreements.
