Biography

Dr. Philip Kwambai Cheruiyot is an academic specialising in Curriculum Instruction and Educational Media (Language Education). His teaching and research focus is on learner-centered pedagogy, writing proficiency, and digital literacy within Kenya’s Competency-Based Education (CBE). He holds a PhD in Language Education (English) (Moi University), an M. Ed in English Education (Moi University), and a B.Ed. (Arts) in English and Literature (Kenyatta University).

At Kisii University, Dr. Kwambai trains undergraduate and postgraduate students in teacher education, supervises research, and leads curriculum development, review and innovation. He currently serves as Chair of the Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Media.

His research interests include constructivist teaching, curriculum design, educational media integration, and transformative teacher education. Recent publications explore instructional techniques for writing proficiency and constructivist approaches to education.

Besides academia, he contributes to community development through school leadership and children’s welfare initiatives.
