Prof. Nathan Oyaro, DSc

Professor Nathan Oyaro is a
Professor of Atmospheric and Environmental Chemistry. With over 30 years of
experience in higher education, he has established himself as a distinguished
scholar, researcher, and academic leader in environmental and analytical
chemistry. He holds a Doctor of Science (DSc) in Physical Chemistry
(Atmospheric Chemistry) from the University of Oslo, Norway, and MSc and BSc
degrees from Kenyatta University. Throughout his academic career, he has served
in several senior leadership positions, including Dean of the School of
Science, Director of Research, and Head of academic and governance committees,
contributing significantly to institutional development and research
excellence.
Professor Oyaro's research
focuses on atmospheric chemistry, environmental pollution, climate change,
water quality, phytoremediation, renewable energy, and sustainable
environmental technologies. He has secured competitive national and
international research funding, led multidisciplinary research collaborations,
and published extensively in peer-reviewed scientific journals. An
internationally recognized scientist, Professor Oyaro has received several
prestigious honours, including the Albert Einstein Award of Excellence,
recognition among the 2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century,
and inclusion in Marquis Who's Who in Science and Engineering. He serves
as a reviewer for leading scientific journals and is an active member of
professional organizations, including the Royal Society of Chemistry and the
Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC).
