This is one of the departments in the School of Pure and Applies Sciences. The Department offers the following very competitive undergraduate programmes; Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Bachelor of Science in Analytical Chemistry, Bachelor of Science in Industrial Chemistry, Bachelor of Science in Environmental Chemistry and Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Chemistry. The department also offers services to Schools and Faculties as such as; Education, Agriculture, and Health Sciences. In addition, the department offers postgraduate programmes such as Master of Science in Analytical Chemistry, Master of Science in Organic Chemistry, Master of Science in Physical Chemistry and Master of Science in inorganic Chemistry. The department also offers two PhD programs leading to award of PhD in Organic Chemistry and PhD in Analytical Chemistry. The Department recently acquired Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (AAS), Flame Photometer and UV/Vis Spectrophotometer to aid the existing instruments
