The Department of Mathematics and Actuarial Science proudly hosted a transformative two-day hands-on workshop on Mathematical Modeling for Infectious Diseases and Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in Africa. Bringing together passionate researchers, students, and emerging scholars, the workshop empowered participants with practical mathematical modeling skills to address some of Africa's most urgent public health challenges. Beyond technical training, the event fostered meaningful collaborations, strengthened research networks, and inspired the next generation of scientists to develop innovative, evidence-based solutions for healthier communities across the continent. Together, Kisii University is advancing knowledge, building capacity, and shaping a future where mathematics drives impactful change in public health.
