ADVERTISEMENT OF ADJUNCT LECTURER POSITIONS IN THE SCHOOL OF HEALTH SCIENCES

Kisii University wishes to declare vacancies in the School of Health Sciences for the following Adjunct Faculty positions

1. Lecturer Human Anatomy (1 position)
2. Lecturer Obstetrics/Gynecology (1 position)
3. Lecturer General Surgery (1 position)
4. Lecturer Human Pathology (1 position)
5. Lecturer Psychiatry (1 position)
6. Lecturer Clinical Medicine (1 position)

Remuneration will be monthly but on a contract basis

Key responsibilities: -

1.     Teach and asses courses in medical physiology to both undergraduate and postgraduate students; 

2.    Supervise postgraduate students;

3.    Initiate, promote and participate in research projects;

4.    Attend and participate in seminars, workshops and conference in relevant fields;

5.    Participate in planning, development, implementation and evaluation of curricula in the department;

6.    Participate in departmental and School Board meetings and other activities;

7.    Conduct community service and initiate linkages;

8.    Any other official duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor. 

Personal attributes: -

1. Proficient in computer skills;
2. Self-motivated and highly disciplined;
3. Possess excellent command of the subject area, including adept lesson planning;
4. Capable of managing ambiguity and emotions;
5. Adaptability to technological changes;
6. Excellent communication, listening, and mediation skills;
7. Strong in fundraising and grants writing abilities;
8. Demonstrates outstanding presentation and research writing skills. 

Minimum education qualifications and Professional Experience: -

1. A relevant Bachelor,s degree or its equivalent from a recognized University;
2. A Master,s degree or its equivalent in the relevant field from a recognized University/College is mandatory;
3. A PhD. in a relevant discipline will be an added advantage;
4. Previous teaching experience is preferred;
5. Must be registered by relevant professional body;
6. Must satisfy requirements of chapter 6 of the Kenyan Constitution.
