BIOGRAPHY
Mamboleo
Gideon teaches Communication and Journalism courses. He has special research
interests in Science Communication and Narrative Journalism. Mamboleo
occasionally writes opinion articles for The
Nation on topical issues on university education, university leadership,
governance and funding. Mamboleo is also an Associate Member of the Kenya
Institute of Management (AMKIM)
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS
CURRENTLY: Mamboleo Gideon is currently
finalizing his Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) in Communication Studies at
Moi University. Thesis: Journalistic
Narrative Techniques Utilized in Newspaper News Stories to Communicate
Scientific and Technological Information to Non-Expert Audiences.
2014: Master of Science (Msc.) in
Communication Studies, Moi University. Masters Thesis: Impact of Global Technology on the Transmission of Information Through
the Television Medium: A case of Sayare Television Network, Eldoret”.
2000: Upper Second Honors Degree of
Sixty-Nine points (69) in Bachelor of
Arts in Linguistics and Literature from the University of Nairobi.
1994: Kenya Certificate of Secondary
Education (KCSE) from Nyakongo High School. Attained an aggregate Mini Grade of
B-(MINUS).
1990: Kenya Certificate of Primary
Education, Riakworo Primary School.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
Mamboleo’s research interests lie in
Science Communication and Narrative Journalism having published research
articles on Communication Systems and Urban Resilience; Journalistic Narrative
Techniques and Newspaper Journalism; Science Journalism among others in peer
reviewed journals.
