Kisii University invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following positions:
Registrar (Administration, Human Resource and Central Services), Grade 15
REGISTRAR (ADMINISTRATION, HUMAN RESOURCE AND CENTRAL SERVICES), GRADE 15, REF. NO: KSU/R(AHRCS)/01/2024
Basic Salary: Kes. 209, 694 - 283,087 per month
House Allowance: Kes. 73,715 per month
All other benefits will be as provided in the terms of service applicable for the position.
Duties and responsibilities:
Under the general direction of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration, Planning and Finance), the Registrar (Administration) shall have the following duties and responsibilities:
working in partnership with academic and administrative units of the University in identification, recruitment, training, performance management of staff;
implementation and application of the University's human resource development and management policies and strategy;
implementation, application and review of the University's policies on employment and employee relations;
overseeing the following operations in the University in coordination with its Schools, Campuses and Departments:
selection and recruitment of employees;
induction and orientation of new employees, training and development of employees;
remuneration and employees' terms of service;
managing employee benefits;
employee relations and welfare;
management of leave and employee records;
discipline of employees;
payroll management;
ensuring adherence to University rules and regulations;
enforcement of University policies on human resource;
coordinating management and provision of central services that include accommodation, estates, farm, transport and catering;
safe custody of administrative University records; and
undertaking such other responsibilities as shall be assigned by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration, Planning and Finance).
Academic and Professional Requirements and Experience
For appointment to the position of Registrar (Administration), one must meet the following requirements:
PhD in administration, public administration, human resource management, business administration, communication, educational communication, project planning, education or any other related, relevant field from a university recognized in Kenya
Certified Public Secretary (K)
Twelve years' administrative experience, 3 of which should have been at Deputy Registrar or its equivalent;
Evidence of outstanding professional competence in administration and management;
Evidence of administrative skills in organization, communication, time management and customer care;
Be computer literate;
Attendance of a management course lasting at least four weeks
Membership in good standing to a relevant professional body(ies) will be an added advantage.
