Aims and Objectives of
the School of Law.
The aims and objectives of the School of Law
are:-

To
teach students the theory and substance of law, and thereby equip them with the
research and technical skills
necessary for identifying relevant facts and applying legal principles to them
in their sociological, political, economic and general cultural context.

To
develop in the students fidelity to law and legal institutions and a commitment
to ethical and professional responsibility in their practice of law.
·
To
train and equip lawyers with sound legal knowledge and integrity so that they
can appreciate the law and its relevance to the contemporary issues in
governance.

To
produce law graduates of the highest academic standing and moral values
competent to execute all and any legal work whether as state attorneys, private
legal practitioners or legal executive officers in their service to local
communities, the Nation, and the world at large.

To
encourage academic dynamism through research and publications and exchange of
ideas between academic, practitioners and other stakeholders through
conferences, seminars and public lectures;

initiate exchange programs with international students, scholars and
practitioners;

produce quality graduates who are responsible and can effectively serve changes

program the clinical seminars as a medium of conducting research and

revamp the Legal Aid Clinic as a medium of teaching and provision of legal
service to the indigent/accused.

conduct of research and delivery of legal training to various cadres of legal
practitioners.
