Cambridge University PhD Scholarship in Philosophy
The Boustany Cambridge Pembroke Scholarship in Philosophy is offered at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Cambridge, one of the world’s leading institutions for teaching and research. Scholarships will be awarded only to candidates taking a PhD degree in philosophy at Cambridge University and recipients become members of Pembroke College, the third oldest and one of the most highly regarded colleges. The Boustany Cambridge Pembroke Scholarship is granted once every three years to an applicant in philosophy.
Eligibility
- The Scholarship is offered to an outstanding and highly-meriting candidate from all nationalities that must have an excellent academic background.
- Candidates must show exceptional ability and promise and may apply for the Scholarship only after receiving an offer of admission from the Cambridge University Faculty of Philosophy.
- The Scholarship offers tuition fees for the three-year course, accommodation and living expenses at Pembroke College, travel and accommodation expenses related to the internship.

Walters Kundert Fellowship
The Walters Kundert Fellowship offers awards of £10,000 annually to support field research in physical geography within the Arctic and/or high mountain environments, with a preference for field studies that advance the understanding of environmental change past or present. Established in 2017, the Walters Kundert Fellowship is supported through a generous donation by the Walters Kundert Charitable Trust. The Fellowship was set up to encourage applicants from across the spectrum of geographical research to enhance the understanding and well-being of the planet’s Arctic and high mountain environments through research. The Walters Kundert Charitable Trust also supports postgraduate grants through the RGS-IBG Postgraduate Research Awards.
Eligibility
- Applications are open to post-PhD researchers affiliated with a UK university or research institute, or Fellows and members of the Society who are employed outside the UK.
- The Walters Kundert Fellowship offers awards of £10,000 annually to support field research in physical geography within the Arctic and/or high mountain environments, with a preference for field studies that advance the understanding of environmental change past or present.

National Humanities Center
Each year, the National Humanities Center welcomes up to forty scholars from across the humanities and all over the world. The National Humanities Center does not discriminate based on race, colour, sex, gender identity, religion, national or ethnic origin, handicap, sexual orientation, or age. They are dedicated to fair treatment, diversity, and inclusion.
Eligibility.
- Applicants must have a doctorate or equivalent scholarly credentials.
- Mid-career and senior scholars are encouraged to apply.
- Emerging scholars with a strong record of peer-reviewed work may also apply.
- The Center does not support the revision of doctoral dissertations.
- The Center accepts individuals from the natural and social sciences, the arts, the professions, and public life who are engaged in humanistic projects.
- The Center is international in scope and welcomes applications from scholars outside the United States.
- The amounts awarded are individually determined, according to the needs of the Fellow and the Center’s ability to meet them. The Center seeks to provide half salary up to $65,000 with the expectation that a Fellow’s home institution will cover the remaining salary. The Center also covers travel expenses to and from North Carolina for Fellows and dependents living with the Fellow in North Carolina during the fellowship.
The Center will begin accepting applications for the 2024–25 academic year on July 1, 2023, with a deadline of October 5, 2023.

Nietzsche Fellowships
The Klassik Stiftung Weimar awards Nietzsche Fellowships to promote creative projects in the fields of philosophy, cultural studies and the humanities.The Kolleg Friedrich Nietzsche is not only a place of introspection and contemplation, but also a forum for productive discourse on contemporary and future-oriented problems of humanity and society – and as such, is closely aligned with Nietzsche’s multi-perspective and cosmopolitan legacy.
Eligibility
- The Nietzsche Fellowship finances a two-month research stay in Weimar with the aim of supporting a philosophical, scientific or journalistic project.
- A reference to Nietzsche’s philosophy is advantageous, but not required.
- Preference is given to projects which possess originality with potential for future research beyond the limiting constraints of the academic sector.
The fellowship consists of a scholarship of 1,500 euros/month and free accommodation at the “Villa
Silberblick”, the former Nietzsche-Archiv.

Non-Clinical Research Fellowships
Motor Neurone Disease Association
Non-Clinical Fellowships will aim to foster and nurture post-doctoral researchers into the MND research leaders of tomorrow. The fellowships will be awarded at two levels, depending on the experience of the applicant: Junior Non-Clinical scholarships and Senior Non-Clinical fellowships. Grants will be offered for up to three or four years duration. Junior Non-Clinical – awards will be provided for two-three years, and Senior Non-Clinical prizes will be presented for 3 – 4 years.
Eligibility
- Fellowship awards may only be held at an institute in the UK and Ireland. At the time of application, the prospective fellow may be based elsewhere.
- Junior Nonclinical applicants must have 2–5 years of postdoctoral experience at the time of commencement of the award. Exceptional final-year PhD students may apply but should consult the Association before submitting a summary application
- Senior Non-Clinical applicants must have 4–10 years of postdoctoral experience at the time of commencement of the award
- The application may be for a term of between 36 and 48 months. The maximum funding will be £110,000 per year, with an overall maximum of £440,000 for a four-year award.

IASH-CTPI Duncan Forrester Fellowship
Applications are invited for postdoctoral bursaries from researchers to work in any of the research areas of the Centre for Theology and Public Issues (CTPI). The applicant’s project must relate broadly to public theology, in relation to areas such as peacebuilding and the arts; theology, politics, and migration; theology and environmental ethics; and theology, law, and justice. The Institute welcomes visiting researchers from across the world.
Eligibility
- Applicants from both within and beyond the University of Edinburgh.
- Applicants must have been awarded a doctorate at the time of application and normally within the last seven years.
- Applicants should not have held a permanent position at a university or a previous Fellowship at the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities. Those who have held temporary and/or short-term appointments are eligible to apply.
- Overseas candidates should check visa restrictions before applying.

Funding opportunities are made available through the Collaborative Research Programme (CRP) – ICGEB Research Grants, which is a dedicated source of funding aimed at financing projects addressing original scientific problems of particular relevance for the host country and of regional interest.
Submission and Closing Dates
In adherence with the ICGEB mandate to equally support its Member States, each ICGEB Member State can endorse up to 3 standard Research Grant applications, plus up to 2 Early Career Return Grants for each call.
Principal Investigators should submit their complete applications online via the dedicated portal by the deadline of 30 April 2023. A copy of the full application will be accessed by his/her Country representative (Liaison Officer), who is in charge of endorsing the application at the national level.

Scientific Cooperation Research Program
The Scientific Cooperation Research Program supports joint research, extension, and education projects — lasting up to two years — between U.S. researchers and researchers from selected emerging market economies. The projects address issues including agricultural trade and market access, climate-smart agriculture, animal and plant health, biotechnology, food safety and security, and sustainable natural resource management. Since 1980, the program has supported hundreds of projects, enhancing the technical skills of agricultural professionals and helping beneficiary countries to be more competitive consumers of U.S. agricultural products.

Centre for Research Collections Fellowships
Applications are invited for Centre for Research Collections Fellowships (previously known as Library Fellowships) from postdoctoral scholars in any area of the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, to carry out research based on any of the Heritage Collections held at the University of Edinburgh. University of Edinburgh’s collections includes approximately 100km of heritage material including archives, manuscripts, rare books, art, musical instruments, and other museum collections. Many of these unique collections have either not been catalogued or not fully researched, presenting novel opportunities to a wide range of scholarly disciplines. The Institute welcomes visiting researchers from across the world. There are numerous areas of potential focus. At this time, they invite applications focused on one of the collections such as Scottish Session Papers, Thomas Nelson archive, Arthur Koestler archive, Middle Eastern manuscripts, and Malawi collections

Yousef Jameel ’68 PhD in Applied Sciences and Engineering Fellowships
In recognition of the critical need for scientists and engineers in the Arab world and with the generous support and visionary leadership of alumnus Yousef Jameel ’68, AUC established the Yousef Jameel ’68 PhD in Applied Sciences and Engineering Fellowships in Fall 2010. The program is designed to prepare future scientists and industrial leaders who are Egyptian nationals and who have strong knowledge and skills in science and engineering. The program is intended to enable qualified Egyptian science and engineering graduates to attend AUC on a full tuition-free scholarship basis. The long-term objective of the program is to develop the manpower for research and development in the region by providing the skill sets for future scientists who are easily recruited in prominent positions in Egypt and the region.
Eligibility
- Open to all nationalities
- Master of science degree with a thesis track in an engineering or science discipline from an accredited university
- For new graduate degree-seeking students; satisfy AUC graduate admissions requirements
- Submission of a satisfactory GRE score, as per the PhD program requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum overall grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent
- Submission of a preliminarily proposed dissertation topic and a research outline, specifying how the topic is related to one or more of the research priority areas
- Relevant scientific research background and experience
- Financial need
The duration is three academic years, with a review every semester for satisfactory academic performance. The fellowship covers Tuition fees for a maximum of nine credits per semester, Student services and activities fees, a monthly stipend.

Massey University Doctoral Scholarship
The award of the scholarship focuses on the academic excellence of the student, without limiting the selection to GPA, as well as ensuring that decisions are made in line with the University, College, and School research strategies. The Massey University Doctoral Scholarship acknowledges the unique contribution that M?ori and Pacific’s students make to academic research. Massey is committed to promoting equity of access to learning, teaching, and research. Massey University is pleased to advise that the October 2022 application round, for 2023 tenure, will be open to international students who are currently based offshore, as well as onshore international and domestic students. The expectation is that recipients of the Doctoral Scholarship will enrol in their doctoral study no later than 1 March for October selection recipients and 1 August for April selection recipients. The Massey University Doctoral Scholarship is available to full-time and part-time candidates enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Doctor of Clinical Psychology (DClinPsych) or Doctor of Social Work (DSW). There are also named scholarships for M?ori and Pacific doctoral candidates. This is a scholarship for a stipend plus fees.

European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS)
The European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS) offers a postdoctoral research fellowship programme for young neuroscientists to facilitate their conduct of and training in basic, clinical or applied research related to multiple sclerosis. The goal of the programme is to maximise the exchange of information and to help grow the pool of well-trained research scientists focused on problems in MS.
Eligibility
- Scientists and physicians who hold or are candidates for an MD, PhD, ScD or equivalent professional degree are eligible.
- Candidates must have received their advanced degree(s) prior to initiation of the fellowship.
- At the time of application, fellows should have no more than one year of prior postdoctoral training at the same host institution/mentor. More senior candidates may have no more than 5 years total of postdoctoral experience beyond their final degree (PhD, MD, ScD or equivalent) at the time of application.
- In general, successful applicants will be less than 40 years of age at the time of application; exceptions under special circumstances will be considered.
- Citizens of any country are eligible to apply to this programme; however, postdoctoral research training must be undertaken in a European laboratory or clinic.
- Candidates and their mentors must affirm that there will be no language barriers that will impede the training experience
The fellowship will provide an annual stipend of €55’000 for all fellows. ECTRIMS will also provide economy round-trip transportation from the successful candidate’s home location to the training site; travel expenses for family members cannot be provided
