The department is involved in Teaching and research. The training offered in the department produces high calibre professionals in line with Kisii University Vision and Mission and opens doors to a wide range of careers both in public and private sectors. The Department also service students who take management Science specialization option in BCOM/BBAM in the department of Accounting and Finance.
