Town Campus

Kisii Town Campus was started in 2002 with the aim of admitting students pursuing short courses in areas of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT), Marketing and Management and those enrolled for Masters in Business Administration. Since then, many more courses, Diplomas and Degrees have been introduced.The KSUTown Campus has full – time and evening (part-time) classes. The Evening classes offer an opportunity to students who are qualified but are not able to attend full - time studies due to other commitments.There is great demand for admission for courses this is due to our continuous and flexible admission dates that is, January, May and September of every year. We also have three semesters every academic year thus ensuring that there is little time lost in terms of long school breaks.Plans are underway to introduce more certificate, diploma and degree courses in areas of Agriculture, ICT, Law and Medicine. The campus is headed by the Director, who is supported by the programmes co-ordinator.

Application forms can be obtained from the Admission’s Office (Town Campus) upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs. 2000 for Degree programmes and Kshs. 1000 for Diploma programmes to any branch of National Bank of Kenya account number0123035009000.

The duly completed forms should be returned to our office in Town Campus or sent to P.O BOX 408 - 40200, KISII. Copies of relevant certificates, Passport size photos and the application fee receipt should be attached.

Kisii University Kericho Campus, through the office of Research and Extension is pleased to host Prof. Tumi Khumalo, Associate Professor of Psychology from North-West University in South Africa.

Prof. Khumalo will present a public lecture on the Principles of and Relevance of Positive Psychology in Africa which will be held on 25th March, 2017 at the Main Campus, Old Moot Court.

His research, in the broad field of Positive Psychology, focuses on measurement and psychometric properties, understanding and promoting youth well-being, as well as cross-cultural studies in Positive Psychology. He is also a co-editor of a research-informed South African teaching textbook on Positive Psychology entitled “Towards flourishing: Contextualizing positive psychology”.

In 2013, He joined Optentia Research Focus Area (NWU, VTC) as a researcher and Associate Professor. Currently he leads the Psycho-social well-being and communal thriving sub-programme in Optentia. Researchers in this subprogram are interested in value-adding research that focuses on understanding, measuring, and promoting psychosocial well-being among youth and adults in the various life domains. His students’ work focuses on cross-cultural adaptation of psychological conceptual and operational models, and quantitative correlational studies. The specific areas of interest include VIA strengths and virtues, meaning in life, eudaimonic well-being, basic psychological needs, as well as self-efficacy and hope.
